Have you ever been hit in the nose with a fragrance that has taken you back to a moment in time or a memory?
Whether the memory or moment in time is positive or negative, fragrances are stored in our memory banks and can ignite when we least expect it. Surely we have all experienced this at some time in our lives – the smell of a new born baby is a good example.
Using Fragrance to Create Your Vibe
My house is vibing every night, and difference spaces have different vibes. For example, my kitchen might smell of coconut and lime in the summer, and Mulled Wine or Salted Caramel in the winter.
My lounge room could be vibing sublte French Pear, a fragrance that takes me back to my childhood family homestead pear orchid and bottling fruit in the big kitchen. One of my favourite deserts was my Great Grandmothers sticky baked pears and dates with icecream.
Growing up, my early memories are of sunny days on the farm. My mum, sister and I would pick plump juicy blackberries and pop them in our mouths – to my mothers relieve, some would make it in the bucket! Mum would make blackberry jam, but if we picked enough she would make a blackberry pie and we would have it with vanilla icecream. It might not seem like much, but for us it was a real treat. The fragrance of Blackberry & Vanilla triggers this happy memory and I often vibe that scent.
The scent of salt always reminds me of family beach days as a child.
Thanks for your comment, we are considering using Sea Salt as a fragrance option.
